Getting around Central London is easy and straightforward. The tube, buses and the overground railway system navigate to and from all mayor airports and bring you into the heart of the city. All major tourist attractions can be reached by public transport or if you’ve got a bit more time and the weather’s not looking too gloomy, jump into your comfiest pair of walking shoes and explore the city by foot. To save on extra travelling costs, enquire about Day Travelcards within the city or consider getting an Oyster card if London will be your home for more than a few days. To prepare in advance, download a free underground map for your pocket – before you know it you’ll be travelling the underground like a local.

The Southbank is at the heart of London’s cultural scene and a beautiful spot to see view of the iconic landmarks like the Big Ben, London Eye and St. Paul’s Cathedral. Take a walk next to the River Thames, stroll through the Foyles bookshop in the Royal Festive Hall and if you’re in luck you might be able to attend one of the free concerts in the Southbank Centre. Take a quick walk across the Thames and you’ll be in Covent Garden – here you’ll find some of the best coffee shops, award-winning restaurants, theatres and Covent Garden Market for the shopping enthusiasts.
